PERFORMANCE VENUE
The Manor House possesses rare acoustics which along with the ambience of the historical setting provide for a great performance and the intimacy of the spaces make for a special artist-audience connection.
This is an acoustic venue ideally suited for solo to quartet musical performances featuring popular music, folk, world, jazz or classical. Perfect for a string quartet or a piano concert.
We have three spaces for performance. The Old Court Room is our largest and can hold an audience of 60 to 80 depending on layout. The Pineapple Bar is an intimate cellar space that works for 1 or 2 performers. The Georgian Reception Hall with the Grand staircase and the high ceiling of the stairwell has superb acoustics and is a unique setting. All spaces are also excellent for recording sessions.
We are also an ideal venue for plays, talks, presentations and art exhibitions.
Performances are supported with the Pineapple Bar in our cellars.
How it works;
We charge a fixed fee for the hire of the venue and within that we provide the Pineapple Bar and staff. Ticketing including receipts and door access is left to the promotor or the artist and there is space for the sale of merchandise.
In 2020 The Manor House featured as part of Independent Venue Week promoted by BBC Radio 6 Music. Details of previous gigs can be found here.
